Spin Cycle aka In The Hoop

Thursday, November 7, 2013 , , , , 0

Alex:  It's really therapeutic to write down what happened, what you’re thinking or what you're feeling when something is bothering you. Then reread it. Then reread it out loud. Then listen to what you’re saying. You can learn a lot about yourself and your thinking habits when you do this. I have a tendency to over think. Mainly the little things. So now when something or someone is bothering me, I do this exercise before ...

High Five

Thursday, November 7, 2013 , , , , 0

Nik:  I know this is a dumb post, but you'll thank me for it... I found the best razor.  I asked my sister and niece what they use and they responded in unison and without hesitation... Schick Hydro 5 Blade.  They said the key is having five blades.  They were right.  My legs are turn-me-on-smooth.

Growing Up Sucks

Tuesday, October 29, 2013 , , , , 0

Alex:  It’s official. I’m almost a grandma. My hair is falling out, I get tired by 10pm and when I get home, the first thing I do, is take my clothes off and change into sweats. The worst part is when I have a couple of drinks I’m hungover for like two days! WHAT IS GOING ON!? Not to mention the bills on bills on bills. They never stop. Cell phone, car insurance, gas, electricity, ...

Powder Puff

Thursday, October 24, 2013 , , , , 0

Text from Nik to Alex:  I don’t want to wash my hair.
Alex:  Baby powder.
Nik:  I have dry shampoo, but it kind of makes my scalp itchy.
Alex:  Baby powder is better.
Nik:  Even on dark hair?
Alex:  Yes. You don’t need a lot. Lightly sprinkle it on your roots and watch the magic happen.
Nik:  Magic?
Alex:  Oily roots, now you see them now you don’t.
Nik:  What’s the difference between baby powder and dry shampoo?
Alex:  I’m not sure, but it just works better. My hair looks and feels cleaner when I use the powder.
Nik:  Fine, I’ll try it.  And since we’re talking powder,  if I ever hear that you’re using drugs, this project

Running errands in LA… Blows!

Wednesday, October 23, 2013 , , , , 0

Alex:  One thing I really miss about Wisconsin is how easy it was to run errands. I could get a lot accomplished in one day. Or should I say one hour! Out here in LA running errands takes an entire day. Hey that rhymed, sorta. Anyway, yesterday I had a few things I needed from CVS, a check to deposit and my tank was on E. You know how long that took me? 3 hours! ...

Caught a Baditude?

Monday, October 14, 2013 , , , , 0

Alex:  I just had a run in with Cruella De Vil’s sister. The Palisades is busy this morning. I start work at 8am and it just so happens to be the same time school starts. The streets are flooded with cars, kids, and parents. As I approach my building, someone is blocking the entrance of my parking structure. Now the cars behind me have to wait too and let me tell you the one directly ...

Sage What?

Friday, October 11, 2013 , , , , 0

Alex:  Remember that day we were working and the news crew was outside because your neighboring tenant died? And you lit sage and walked around your place? And I thought you were kind of a weirdo? Well, turns out, the healer that works in my building lights it too when he needs to ‘clean the air’. And the guy I hung out with last weekend did the same thing after watching Miley Cyrus on the ...

I’m obsessed with… Swedish Dream Sea Salt Soap

Thursday, October 10, 2013 , , , , 0

Nik:  You know how good your skin is after swimming in the ocean? This soap has all the benefits of a Pacific dip without the sand between your toes.
Alex:  Speaking of ocean, let’s go to the beach soon!
Nik:  It’s too cold.
Alex:  Are you kidding me? It’s 70 degrees out!
Nik:  It’s 69.  And when you’ve been in LA as long as I have, 69 is not beach weather.
Alex:  I’m always down to get wet when it’s 69.
Nik:  Ew. No.
