Nik: Crazy? Do SpacedOut. Ooh…Super Diamond Pure Gold would be fab at Disneyland.

Nik: Who are you?
Alex: Actually, I’m going with The Ventura.
Nik: I’m just happy fanny packs are back.

Alex: I really enjoy lunch time because I get to listen to the writers talk about their favorite shows and other cool things they’ve done lately. Today one of my co-workers was talking about this interactive haunted play called Delusion. It’s supposed to make you feel like you are in a scary movie. Are you a scaredy cat? I am but for some reason I really want to do this. You have to sign a waiver because you run and crawl and people touch you. We have to buy our tickets soon because they’re half sold out already. I’ve never been into this kind of stuff but I’m all game right now. What’s gotten into me!?
Nik: It looks very cool.  I’m not sure I can get down with strangers touching me though.
Alex: C’mon pretend like you’re in college.
Nik: Only my boyfriends touched me.  And even on my drunkest night I never crawled through the woods on my knees.  I did fall in a snow bank once.  And ask a female cop to arrest me.
Alex: Was she hott?
Nik: No, she looked like a dude, but I wanted to be handcuffed.
Alex: Kinky, I like it.
Nik: You would.  Should we go?
Alex: YES!

Nik:  My aunt found this black leather pencil skirt at a garage sale. I love it.
Alex:  There is a lot of awesomeness happening right now. Your aunt has some serious garage-sale-ing (SP?) skills. That’s a diamond in the rough if I’ve ever seen one. You are for sure going to get laid wearing that.

Nik:  We should start garage saleing. If she found this skirt in a Florida retirement community, just think of what we could find in LA.

Alex:  Okay, so I love this dress. I wear it all the time in the summer. Can I make it work in the winter?
Nik:  Definitely.  Either throw on a black leather jacket and some booties with a messy bun or what about this…

Alex:  Not gonna lie, you may need to be my full time stylist. I wore the outfit that you put together (above) and someone who works at a major label was at Warner for a meeting and said he liked my vibe and my style and was wondering if I was looking for a full-time job! He asked for my contact info! Not saying I got the gig, but it’s insane that it all happened over the look you picked out! How did you do that? Can I practice styling? Is there a book or a manual of how to have good style? Help a sista out!
Nik:  I’m not sure, but I think anyone can have good style if they take the time.  Now that football season is over, find a Sunday to shop your closet. Put looks together and then take pictures so that you have a library to access when you don’t know what to wear, are in a hurry, or heaven forbid both.  If you’re not sure where to start, check out fashion blogs or retail sites for inspiration.  Oh and if I have something random…say cherry red heels…I’ll google images for red heels to get ideas.  Also, don’t be afraid to ask sales associates to put things together for you or give you suggestions before you buy something. Most importantly, if you feel really good in what you’re wearing, you’ll give off that vibe. I’m guessing it was more you and less the outfit I put together.
Alex:  Oh stop it… (over exaggerated hair flip)

Alex:  You’re not going to believe what happened to me a couple weeks ago… I went to the Friends and Family (FNF) Pre-Grammy party! I know that people in the industry act like it’s no big thang, but to me it’s like finally getting invited to sit with the populars at lunch. I’m still smiling like a little kid who just got their first play station. I was so nervous. You know that overwhelming feeling you get where you can actually hear and feel how loud and fast your heart is beating. It was like I just got done running a marathon.. actually more like running up the stairs, I’m so out of shape. There were over 1,200 people there. Free booze. Live performances. Total chaos. I don’t know how to describe it because it all happened so quickly. I got there and I was instantly sucked in this mob of flashing lights, loud music, and constant chatter. I’d finish one conversation and turn around and there’s someone else to talk to. I even saw the Jonas brothers. I still feel like I’m dreaming. I can’t believe a year ago I was in Wisconsin waitressing and now I’m in LA having eye sex with Joe Jonas and writing a blog with Nikki Schiefelbein.
Nik:  Um. I have so many questions. Like…how does eye sex happen? Actually, what is eye sex? Please explain. Okay, now the important stuff… What did you wear? I know this was your first big LA party–were you impressed? Was it as Cinderella-fairy-tale-perfect as you expected? Did you meet cool people?
Alex:  So eye sex is when you lock eyes with someone and imagine banging each other’s brains out. I can explain in further detail next time I see you. I wore a long black skirt with a high slit, a sheer black top with that sexy black bra from Brandy which I paired with army boot heels and a long, gold, dog-tag necklace. I felt good and you know what, I was impressed with the party. My jaw wasn’t dropped the entire time, but I did stop and take a second to soak it all in before I walked up the stairs and into the party. I was surprised that I ran into some people I already knew, so not only did I make a couple new connections, but I also introduced a few people as well, which felt great. At the end of the night, I got invited to go to an after-party at one of the clubs. It was with a few people who are already established in the music industry so I knew it was going to be a blast. It was a tough decision, but I decided to pass and end while I was ahead. I had such a great night, why push it? I know I could have gone all night, I was ready for another drink. But I think it’s better to leave people wanting more rather than being there when the party is over and they’re telling everyone to go home.
Nik:  Couldn’t agree more–better to keep it classy. And I don’t think I need further explanation of eye sex. Wait, how long do you lock eyes for? Doesn’t it get weird? Is there like a ‘foreplay glance’? Nevermind.  I have to work on my script.

Nik:  My latest manicure has provided me with hours of entertainment. And no it’s not because I’m bored.  Well, I am, now that my pilot is finished.  But really it’s because it’s hypercolor. When I’m cold, my nails are a deep red, almost black, and when I’m warm, they turn cherry red. It’s weirdly fun to watch when my fingers are changing temperature…my middle fingers are always cold. Who knew?
Alex:  I love it! It kind of inspired me to get my nails gelled. Is that how you say it? Where they put that gel-coat on so your nails don’t chip as fast. I got similar colors and I didn’t even mean to. I unconsciously copy-catted you. Is this what it feels like to be the younger sibling?!
Nik:  Don’t make it creepy, Alex.

Nik:  I just designed an iPhone case and computer skin on www.capthat.com. This site is rad. You upload your photo and then you can manipulate it with various filters. I ended up spending an hour putting different effects on my pics. They have tons of products to choose from… phone cases, computer skins, clothing, mugs, etc. Great for gifts.
Alex:  So sick! I’m making one of these pronto.
