Nik:  Alex, do you remember when we were talking about your pilot the other day? You asked me what sells and I said don’t worry about what sells, just write what you’re really passionate about and tell a good story… Well, watch this. I love Saban’s philosophy and what he tells his players:  Ignore the scoreboard, don’t worry about winning, just focus on doing your job at the highest level every single play and the wins will follow. And his team’s mantra:  Get Your Mind Right. It’s no surprise that Alabama is undefeated. I think everyone can apply this to whatever they’re doing in life. In your case, you should apply it to your pilot. Don’t worry about the scoreboard, just write the best possible script, make it perfect, and the reward will follow.
Alex: I do remember! Its been on repeat in my mind as I’m narrowing down my ideas to make my one-liner.  I’ve been focusing on writing what speaks to me rather than what I think speaks to everyone else. I just gotta listen to my gut, follow my imagination, and stop worrying about if everyone else will like it. Truth is, if I like it, that’s all that matters. Thanks again for the good advice Nik.
